Principal
I have worked for Laredo ISD for ten years. At the present time I am the Principal of Don Jose Gallego Elementary School. Before this assignment, I was the Curriculum/Staff Development Specialist for the Bilingual Department. While working in this position, I was very much involved in developing and monitoring the curriculum and instruction of our limited English students. Before this position, I was the Coordinator for the Dual Language program for the district. I was there for a year, but I was so lucky to initiate the program and get it off the ground. It was a great opportunity for me to learn not only about Dual Language instruction, but also about Early Childhood curriculum. Another great experience during my career as an educator was the three years that I spent as an Assistant Principal of Buenos Aires Elementary, which is now Don Jose Gallego Elementary. I had the opportunity to work with a great staff and a great principal. Buenos Aires gave me the opportunity to grow professionally and intellectually.
